About Me

Comments:

I have about a year with my Burley Honey Bee. It's light and comfy for my boys ages 3 and 1. Love the storage space in the back. We use it as a bike trailer and as a stroller. It's great in cool weather because we close it and the kids are completely comfortable with a blanket inside. The only disappointment is that I wish I would have upgraded to the reclining Burley. My 1 year old always falls asleep on bike rides and his head gets in terrible positions. It also does not have a sunshade like the other models. I have to put a towel in the front when we face the sun to give the kids shade. Besides that, it's great and I get a lot of compliments from other parents. I end up feeling like a spokes person for Burley when I tell them about all the specs.

Nice & smooth, 1 difficulty

About Me

Comments:

My 2nd Burley (1st was for my twin daughters, now 25) for my grandson rides very smoothly, but the Honey Bee is difficult to snap the upper two pieces together in my first 3 months of use. I am hoping with time the material stretches some to the two pieces can snap to gether more easily so my daughter can put it toether to ride. Right now it takes my strength only, and i have a lot of difficulty. My original Burley did not have this complication.

Only one with every feature we were looking for

About Me

Comments:

After LOT's of research, the Honey Bee was the only bike trailer that had everything we wanted which was; safety, storage, spoked bicycle wheels (not plastic), easy on / off of the bike & easy transition from trailer to stroller so we can park the bikes and go shopping. Assembly was easy & quality seems top notch, we have not had any issues after a month of riding. It was double the price of another trailer we liked, however in my opinion it was the best value.

My wife bought this for me as a birthday present. My daughter and I love riding around the neighborhood. I helped him pick her up from daycare in it and it's the highlight of our day.

  • Affordable
  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable Ride

Cons

  • Stroller could be better

Best Uses

  • Street Riding

Comments:

Wanted a basic trailer for hauling my nephew around. Burley makes great stuff and this trailer is no exception. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some higher-end trailers, but it costs a lot less too. Just don't plan on doing any runs with the trailer in stroller mode--It's a bit clunky and is best suited for casual strolls around the neighborhood.

I just bought my first bike from the Bike Rack a few weeks ago to get in shape. After riding the local trails for a while, I decided I was ready to attempt a trailer for my two-year-old daughter. We just had another baby girl last week, and I thought it would also be a great way to give mom a little time off from the two girls while I was on my morning ride. I went in this afternoon and the salesman was able to answer all of my questions, and even helped my daughter pick out a new helmet. Before we left, he showed me how to disassemble the trailer, and carried it out to the car for me. I was able to assemble the trailer without the manual in 5 minutes... literally. Hooking it up to the rear axel was painless, and you only have to do it once. A pin can be released to remove the trailer easily from the bike. In 10 minutes I had it fully installed to my bike and we were on the road for a quick ride around the neighborhood. It was amazingly easy to pull... no more difficult to climb the steep hills in my area than without it. Of course, this is my first day with the trailer, but the ease of use has already exceeded my expectations. The only complaint from my daughter was that I wasn't going fast enough!!
